WIP... Paper Bag Album

I have seen a lot of paper bag albums on the internet and always wanted to try one for a long time, but never got around to it. Last night I decided to try one... This is what I have done so far...

I haven't decided yet but I might make an ACEO album out of it, and if I don't the next one I make will definitely be an ACEO album. I can use the plastic sleeves to add them to the book.

I started out with 5 square bottom 50% recycled material paper bags, and I cut 1 centimeter off the closed end to make both ends open.

Then I layed the 5 bags in like a book - alternating which end was the closed end.

I chose co-ordinating papers. You need 2 for the covers, and 18 for the insides. I then cut them into 5x5 inch squares.

I did not assemble the book before adding the paper inside. I thought it would be easier to add the papers if I could take 1 bag out at a time to work on it. I used scotch double-sided tape and Aleen's Acid Free Tacky Glue to glue the squares down.

The next thing I want to do is make squares with some kind of tab, that I will insert into the open ends to make pull out pages. Plus I have been watching craft podcasts and think that a pamphlet stitch would work well for this project, I have never done one before so hopefully I can figure it out. I think book rings would probably work too.

I am thinking that a button and ribbon would work well for keeping the book closed.

For any of you curious, here is a tutorial on the pamphlet stitch! It looks really cool. I plan to use twine as it will match the book nicely!
