November 7th, 2012: A Local Park

Last Wednesday a friend and I took a long walk with our cameras. She had just gotten her first Digital SLR camera, and I had just upgraded my DSLR. Who knew we would get so lucky.

My pictures turned out really dark and grainy, I haven't quite figured out my new camera, so I will have to play with my settings a bit before I go hunting again lol

I estimate we saw a herd of about 17-20 or so mule deer (could be white-tailed deer but they look like mule deer to me). There were 3-4 bucks, saw 1 later on not sure if it was the same or not. I have seen a lot of deer here and I hardly ever see bucks so it was pretty awesome to see so many. The most deer I have seen at 1 time before was 11 so this was nice!

We saw a few little birds, a few I think were woodpeckers of some sort, but they were too fast flying to get any really good pictures of them. Oh and we saw an otter, which I think has a fish or something in it's mouth. Never seen an otter before so that was pretty cool!

I love love love knots of wood in trees, I thought this one looked like a heart! I am really happy with how it turned out!

This one was running in my general direction and so I am lucky I got any picture let alone this one. lmao Just glad he decided to go the other way.
