April 20, 2014... A local lake...

On Easter Sunday I took a trip to a favourite lake I like to go to. It was a beautiful day, but very windy. It was amazing to see the owl family. I had only seen 1 owl in the wild before, you can see that blog post here.

This is a view of the back of the lake, I forgot to take a photo from the front. It is a beautiful place to visit. There is 1 large lake, then a path at the back and then a smaller lake.

red-winged black bird

3 different geese on nests, maybe we'll have babies soon ? Usually by the first week of May they are hatching.

Merlins... I saw 2 chasing each other around the park, I was chasing them. Thank goodness their call is loud or I wouldn't have seen them.

Great Horned Owl family... 3 babies in the nest. I was quite far away, but had my biggest zoom lens on... wasn't disturbing them.

Got Wind? LMAO, it was really windy.
